Exception headquartered their Supplier Management Centre in Penang, Malaysia during 2006, initially staffed by 2 locally recruited supply chain and operations managers. Since that time, the team in Penang has grown to 8 full time staff, with plans during 2008 to recruit a further 2 people. The Supply Management Centre has quickly added value to the offerings of Exception VAR and to the wider Exception, with numerous supplier based and customer supporting activities. Although the focus within the Penang office has been very much supplier based, the emerging direct Chinese customer base that Exception now services, have also come to appreciate the benefits of the local Exception facility, with services ;
The key success of the Penang facility is again, down to the strength and commitment of the team, an extension of the core Exception work practices and customer culture. Operating from the same software and communication platforms, in real time, the interface between the UK and Asian facility provides a dynamic interface between suppliers, exception and customers.
