Providing solutions to support mission critical components... Exception has the broad range of printed circuit assembly (PCA), equipment assembly and testing skills necessary to support the oil & gas industry, for both surface and down-hole products in exploration and production. We work hard to forge close partnerships with manufacturers in this sector looking for greater responsiveness when it comes to quickturn orders and a higher level of supplier input at the outset of a project. Our UK PCB manufacturing facility plays a key part in the NPI process, ensuring selection of key technologies and materials which are fundamental to enhanced tool life and productivity. Exception provides a contract manufacturing service to oilfi eld technology and services providers, which includes exhaustive environmental stress screening (ESS) tests to ensure that products can operate in the most aggressive environments. By paying special attention to areas such as soldering, we ensure that critical componentry is 100 per cent reliable, 100 per cent of the time. We work closely with our customers’ manufacturing teams to develop new products and, increasingly, liaise on new designs from the outset of a project. Our componentry is utilised in electro-mechanical based equipment employed by all the leading oil or gas operators and oilfi eld service companies around the world and has established an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. Our standard setting test and ruggedisation expertise ensures that mission critical products are reliable every time – vital in the exploration industry where every second of down time counts. The reliability of our work is fundamental to the successful operation of our customers’ products in one of the most physically demanding environments in the world. “The cost of tool failure can run to hundreds
of thousands of pounds. We rely on Exception
to provide a robust and reliable product
to withstand the harsh environment of oil
extraction.” Ian Deacon, General Manager
