The medical market is evolving and being revolutionised through its complete infrastructure whether its patient monitoring from MRI scans or via swallable devices, leading OEM's in the field are turning to the electronic specialists for advise and support in NPI and product design for greater functionality within specific form factors. Exception is proud to play a key role in the development and transition into successful production with several board products being utilised in hospitals throughout the world in applications such as MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), ECG (electrocardiogram) monitoring, Arthroscopic camera's and patient monitoring.

Clearly, when designing and manufacturing such specialised equipment – first at low volume during the test stage and then moving onto mass production – adopting the most effective cost model is a major challenge facing  Medical OEMs such as  GE, Varian, and Philips to name a few.  While these global brands have the know how and expertise in more traditional types of medical equipment manufacture, this new breed of miniature medical tools is pushing many organisations to the far reaches of their abilities.
