eXception Staff Raise £5,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance

on Thursday, 11 August 2011.

A number of staff and their partners from eXception put their walking boots on and walked 55 miles around 7 of the County’s white horses over two days as part of the White Horse Challenge to raise funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance

The staff raised £5,000 in sponsorship. Nic Wescombe, Engineer, commented “when we had the initial idea to take part in this event we never imagined we would raise so much money, the Company also donated £2,000 to this worthy cause which was fantastic”

To prepare themselves for the challenge, the employees along with their partners, started training for this event several months ago gradually increasing the distance walked to prepare themselves for the task ahead and to get used to how their feet were going to perform on the day. The walkers ranged from experienced walkers to those that walked from the car to the office!

The first days walk was from Devizes to Pewsey via Alton Barnes then up to Marlborough. On Sunday they went via Hackpen and Broad Town, heading south to Cherhill and finally arriving back at Devizes

"On average it took us 8 hours each day, the weather was glorious, but a bit too warm and humid on Sunday which was ok for those sitting at the finish but not so good for those of us walking as the blisters proved!" commented Jenny Goward, HR Manager “the scenery around that part of Wiltshire is wonderful and the fact we were walking as a team gave us the motivation and encouragement to finish”

Several walkers have already committed to supporting this great cause again next year

Innovating Boundary Scan testing for CEM

on Thursday, 07 July 2011.

The eXception EMS technical team, led by Adam White, have achieved the distinction of becoming the first Contract Electronics Manufacturer (CEM) in the UK to incorporate GOEPEL's electronic JTAG/Boundary Scan technology into a Teradyne Test station.

Crucial to this achievement was eXception's ongoing investment in technical training and the technical team's innovative in-house design and development of interface cards and associated software.
